ATTORNEY RICHARD C. MAXSON

Richard C. Maxson is an owner and the President of the Peet Law Group.  Richard is the oldest of three children. He is a Vermont native and was raised in South Burlington. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1987 from Arizona State University.

Richard attended California Western School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1993. Throughout his second and third years of law school, he clerked for the litigation firm of Larrabee & Loadman in downtown San Diego. After his admission to the bar, Richard joined the insurance defense firm of McMenamin & Bennett, in-house counsel for Cigna Insurance, handling primarily personal injury cases.

In 1997 Richard was admitted to the bar in Vermont and opened an office in South Burlington. Most of his practice centered around criminal defense, real estate, and landlord-tenant issues. He joined the Law Offices of Fred V. Peet, P.C. in 1998. Richard is an agent for Vermont Attorneys Title Corporation and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.

Richard and his wife Dawn have two children and reside in the Town of Shelburne, Vermont.
